DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, I will discuss two aspects of cosmic-string phy
 sics. First\, I will present the gravitational-wave spectrum sourced by gl
 obal cosmic-string networks. By modeling both long strings and loops\, we 
 derive the resulting signal using the unequal-time correlators of the stri
 ng stress-energy tensor. Second\, I will discuss the stability of supercon
 ducting strings at both the classical and quantum levels\, and explore the
 ir cosmological implications\, including possible consequences for the QCD
