 cally valuable message humanity could send to an unknown civilization that
  we will almost certainly never hear back from? In this talk\, I introduce
  the concept of the Cosmic Illuminating Gift: a one-way transmission of fu
 ndamental astronomical observations intended not as a greeting\, but as a 
 lasting scientific contribution to distant intelligences. Unlike tradition
 al Messaging to Extraterrestrial Intelligence (METI)\, the Cosmic Illumina
 ting Gift is motivated by a simple scientific observation: observers elsew
 here in space and time have access to different observational information 
 about the same Universe. By transmitting carefully selected empirical data
 \, rather than our interpretations or cosmological models\, we may provide
  information that is otherwise inaccessible to them. I will discuss the mo
 tivation behind the idea\, possible strategies for content selection and t
 ransmission\, and the broader scientific and philosophical implications of
  a project whose value lies not in receiving a response\, but in the act o
