The axion is a well-motivated hypothetical particle that simultaneously addresses the long-standing strong CP problem and the dark matter puzzle. Recent cosmological simulations favor higher-mass axions, particularly in the mass range above 40 ueV within post-inflationary scenarios. The plasma haloscope is a novel concept designed to search for such high-mass axions by leveraging plasmonic resonance inside a wire-metamaterial resonator immersed in a strong magnetic field. The Axion Longitudinal Plasma HAloscope (ALPHA) is an international collaboration established to realize plasma haloscopes sensitive to the QCD axion parameter space, with Stockholm University serving as one of its leading institutions. Our group co-drives the development of the tuanable metamaterial resonator for the collaboration. In this talk, I will present our recent progress and ongoing efforts toward high-mass axion searches via plasma haloscopes.
