DESCRIPTION:The 9th International Conference on Ultrahigh Intensity Lasers
  (ICUIL 2022) will be held in the Jeju island in Korea from Sep. 18th to 2
 3rd in 2022. Jeju is a beautiful volcanic island - the most attractive tou
 rist spot in Korea. \n\nSince its inception in 2004\, the ICUIL conference
  has served as the representative venue for reporting the research progres
 s and communicating among researchers in the area of ultrahigh intensity l
 aser science and technology. Through the ICUIL conferences in the past one
  and a half decades\, we have witnessed the increase of laser intensity by
  more than several orders of magnitude\, reaching an extreme intensity of 
 about 10²³ W/cm²\, and the corresponding expansion in the applications
  of ultrahigh intensity lasers from relativistic laser plasma interactions
  to strong-field quantum electrodynamics. In ICUIL 2022\, in addition to t
 he continued progress in the field\, we expect to see groundbreaking resul
 ts produced with multi-PW lasers around the world\, of which proliferation
  was witnessed in ICUIL 2018 held in Lindau\, Germany. Moreover\, we want 
 to celebrate the recent public recognition of our research area\, marked b
 y the 2018 Nobel Physics Prize given to Gerard Mourou (the first chair of 
 ICUIL) and Donna Strickland for their invention of chirped pulse amplifica
 tion\, the very basis of our research on ultrahigh intensity lasers. We ho
 pe that ICUIL 2022 becomes a festive venue in which the community shares t
 he emergence of pioneering science characterized by unprecedented physical
  parameters.\n\nThe conference is organized by Center for Relativistic Las
 er Science (CoReLS)\, Institute for Basic Science (IBS)\, Korea\, and the 
 title of IBS Conference on Ultrahigh Intensity Lasers (ICUIL 2022) is used
