Doubled Symmetries in Open Systems: Applications to EM and Gravity

I will introduce the main ingredients for treating open systems within the Schwinger-Keldysh formalism, emphasizing the role of doubled symmetries, namely the physical and noise sectors, with a particular focus to gauge transformations under BRST quantization. I will review recent developments in open electromagnetism and gravity by other groups and highlight new progress from my own research. An open discussion will follow, comparing the various approaches to these intriguing topics.
