Description
In this talk I will discuss previous and ongoing work regarding the microstructure of black holes from the perspective of string theory. One of the approaches, known as the fuzzball paradigm, conjectures that the black hole is replaced by horizon-scale, yet horizonless, configurations of various constituents in string theory with the same mass, charge and angular momentum. With this in mind, I will present a variety of results covering various aspects of this microstructure, opting to give a broader view while neglecting many of the technical points.
