Description

The purpose of these monthly events is for the two groups to exchange research and socialize.
We will have 30-minute presentations by one person from each research group in the CTPU seminar room at 10:30 am, followed by a 15 minute discussion, and then a light meal in the discussion area in front of the seminar room at 12:00 pm. We invite everyone to join us.

Spontaneous Scalarization and its Application to the Holographic QCD Theory 30m

I would like to briefly introduce the phenomenon of spontaneous scalarization of black holes, which provides a new mechanism to evade the no-hair theorem. Within a simplified Einstein–Maxwell–Dilaton (EMD) framework, we have investigated the scalarization of Reissner–Nordström black holes. In this model, two types of hairy black hole solutions can be identified: one induced by the scalar potential and another arising from non-minimal coupling. I will show that the improved EMD model, which indicates a first-order QCD phase transition, can be understood in terms of the transition between these two classes of hairy black hole states.

Extra Dimension and 4D Effective Theory 30m

I will briefly introduce the higher dimensional spacetime theory and how our 4D spacetime effectively emerges from it. Then, I discuss the possibility of the production of Kaluza-Klein particles in the early universe, which may become super heavy dark matter.
