Welcome to the Particle Detector Workshop 2026!
We propose to hold a workshop that will bring together leading experts in particle detector physics and detector technologies. The workshop will cover a broad range of detector systems, including gas detectors, scintillation detectors, solid-state detectors, liquid detectors, and cryogenic detectors. The meeting will begin at 1:00 PM on February 6, and will be held at the IBS Science Culture Center.
In conjunction with this workshop, we aim to review the current state of the art in detector technologies developed in Korea for both domestic and international experiments, and to discuss future directions in the field. These discussions will also help inform our plan to establish a collaborative Detector R&D Center at the Institute for Basic Science (IBS) to support high-energy physics experiments—including particle, nuclear, and astro physics—with a particular emphasis on international collaborations.
입자 검출기 물리 및 검출기 기술 개발 분야에서 선도적인 전문가들을 한자리에 모으는 검출기 워크숍을 개최하고자 합니다. 본 워크숍에서는 기체 검출기, 섬광 검출기, 고체 검출기, 액체 검출기, 극저온 검출기 등 다양한 검출기 시스템을 폭넓게 다루며, 각 기술의 현재와 가능성을 함께 조망할 예정입니다. 본 미팅은 2026년 2월 6일 (금요일) 오후 1시에 대전 IBS 과학문화센터에서 개최됩니다.
본 워크숍과 연계하여, 국내외 실험을 위해 한국에서 개발된 검출기 기술의 최신 연구 동향을 종합적으로 점검하고, 해당 분야의 향후 발전 방향에 대해 심도있는 논의를 진행하고자 합니다. 이러한 논의는 입자물리, 핵물리, 천체물리 실험을 포함한 고에너지 물리 실험을 지원하기 위해, 기초과학연구원(IBS) 내 공동 검출기 R&D 센터 설립 계획을 구체화하는 데에도 중요한 토대가 될 것입니다.
