Description

The Standard Model Higgs field may play the role of inflaton in the presence of a nonminimal coupling to gravity. Once the potential develops a near-inflection point near the end of inflation, primordial black holes may be formed and play the role of dark matter, even in the framework of the Standard Model. However the Standard Model needs to be extended in order to accommodate e.g. neutrino masses and baryon asymmetry. Furthermore, the primordial black holes may not constitute the whole dark matter content of our Universe, seeking for another dark matter candidate. One of the popular methods is to introduce a dark sector with a Higgs-portal interaction. After briefly reviewing the Higgs inflation, I shall talk about a possible link between the Higgs inflation and darkmatter, taking a particular model called the singlet fermion dark matter model.
