Description
In this talk, we discuss the tropicalization of the space of symmetric rank two matrices. Analogous to the result of Markwig and Yu for general tropical rank two matrices, it has a simplicial complex structure as the space of symmetric bicolored trees. As properties of this simplicial complex, we point out that this space is shellable and give several descriptions of the algebraic matroid of the space of symmetric rank two matrices.
