Description

The patterns observed in Particle Physics can be understood in String Theory as reflections of patterns existing in the very fabric of space-time, in the geometry and topology of the extra-dimensions predicted by String Theory: why all matter comes in three families, why the masses of elementary particles arrange themselves in a hierarchy spanning six orders of magnitude and how to compute these masses from first principles. Such fundamental questions characterize the very core structure of Particle Physics. In this talk, I will outline some recent progress in identifying realistic models of Particle Physics in heterotic String Theory, supported both by mathematical and computational advancements, such as machine learning.
