Tips for Visitors
Chichibu is a rural area compared with central Tokyo, and public transportation is less frequent. We recommend checking train schedules in advance, particularly for your return journey.
The most convenient route from Tokyo is the Seibu Railway Limited Express Laview from Ikebukuro to Seibu-Chichibu. Advance seat reservation is recommended.
Suica, PASMO and other major IC cards are useful for transportation. We also recommend carrying a small amount of cash, as some local shops and services may not accept credit cards.
Late November in Chichibu can be considerably colder than central Tokyo, especially in the morning and evening. We recommend bringing warm clothing.
