Description

Electromagnetic calorimeters are key to deep inelastic scattering experiments. At the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC), in the ePIC experiment, the Barrel Imaging Calorimeter (BIC) will be an electromagnetic calorimeter located in the barrel region. It consists of alternating layers of Lead and Scintillating Fibers (Pb/SciFi) for energy measurement, interleaved with silicon pixel detectors for shower profile measurement. To verify its performances and prepare for large-scale production, the Korean BIC group produced a Pb/SciFi prototype and tested it using electron beams at the CERN PS accelerator facility. This presentation will cover the beam test results and corresponding simulations.
