Research area: Trapped-ion quantum computing, quantum simulation, quantum metrology, scalable quantum platforms, quantum advantage, and quantum error correction.

Kihwan Kim directs the IBS Center for Trapped Ion Quantum Science, which develops precisely controllable trapped-ion systems for quantum information science. His research uses the internal energy states of trapped ions as qubits, controlled and measured with laser-based techniques, to build platforms for quantum computation, quantum simulation, quantum metrology, and fault-tolerant quantum operations.

Professor, School of Computational Sciences, Korea Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS)

Research area: Quantum information theory, quantum resource theory, quantum thermodynamics, fluctuation theorems, quantum algorithms, and quantum error correction.

Hyukjoon Kwon is a professor at KIAS working on quantum information theory at the interface of quantum physics, information theory, and computer science. His research connects quantum resource theory, quantum advantage in metrological tasks, quantum fluctuation theorems, and the design of quantum algorithms and efficient quantum error-correction protocols.

Principal Research Scientist, Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS)

Research area: Neutral-atom quantum computing, optical-tweezer atom control, ultracold atomic gases, atom-based QPUs, and quantum-simulation technologies.

Jongchul Mun is a principal research scientist at KRISS working on ultracold atomic gases and atom-based quantum technologies. His recent work at the KRISS Neutral Atom Quantum Computing Laboratory focuses on neutral-atom QPU development, including precise optical control of individual atoms and scalable platforms for quantum computing and simulation.

Research area: Quantum machine learning, machine learning for quantum computing, quantum algorithms, noisy quantum systems, and statistical approaches to quantum-computing reliability.

Daniel Kyungdeock Park is an associate professor at Yonsei University and vice director of the Institute of Quantum Information Technology. His group develops quantum and quantum-inspired machine-learning algorithms, while also using statistical and machine-learning methods to improve noisy quantum computers through error mitigation, decoding, and noise-aware algorithm design.
