1. From Incheon International Airport

From Incheon International Airport, there are two choices for traveling to Daejeon. 

 

Option 1 : Limousine bus 

  (ICN -> Daejeon Government Complex Stop -> I-Hotel)

 

The first is an airport limousine bus, which is slightly more convenient than the second option:

1. Bus ride: Incheon Airport (ICN) → Daejeon Government Complex stop (Daejeoncheongsa)

 ~2 hours and 15 minutes (from 24,900 KRW, higher for premium bus).

Note : The ticket booth and machine are just outside the airport terminal. There is a pit stop during the ride.

2. Taxi ride : Daejeon Government Complex stop (Daejeoncheongsa)→ accommodation

(~10 minutes, ~5000 KRW)

 

Option 2 :  Train 

  (ICN -> Seoul KTX Station -> Daejeon KTX Station -> I-Hotel)

 

The second option is a series of train rides through Seoul, the capital city of Korea:

1. Train ride (AREX): Incheon Airport → Seoul KTX Station

Note: the express train provides reserved seats and takes you to directly to Seoul station (~50 minutes, 9500 KRW), and the all-stop train is free seating with several additional stops for an additional ~15 minutes to the trip (~5000 KRW).

 

2. Train ride (KTX): Seoul KTX station → Daejeon Station (~1 hour, 23,700KRW)

Tickets can be purchased at the station’s ticket counter, and information desk is located at the main hall.

  3. Taxi ride: Daejeon Station → I-hotel (~25minutes, ~10,000 KRW)

Follow the signs at the station to the exit with the taxi hub.


2. From Gimpo International Airport

Passengers from Gimpo International Airport can take the 22-minute airport metro line (AREX) to Seoul KTX Station, and follow steps 2 and 3 of the first travel option from Incheon International Airport.

 

1. Train ride (AREX): Gimpo Airport → Seoul KTX Station (~25 minutes, ~2000KRW)

Taxi is a convenient and cost-effective transportation option in Korea. 

Both cash and credit card payments are possible. 

If at a remote place and wishing to call a taxi while providing your destination without possible difficulties in communication, it can be done through the “Kakao T” app on a mobile phone.

 

If encountering taxi drivers who are not fluent in English, please show them the name of your accommodation written in Korean:

Daejeon I-Hotel: 대전 아이호텔

Lotte City Hotel: 롯데시티호텔

Hotel ICC: ICC 호텔

 

All three hotels are within walking distance of each other.

 

 

Public transportation involving either subway and/or bus is also possible. Please note that cash payment is not possible on subways and buses, and one should purchase a “Tmoney” transportation card at a designated booth or convenience store.
