Code of Conduct

It is the policy of the XQCD 2026 Conference that all participants—including attendees, speakers, session conveners, award recipients, volunteers, staff, contractors, and all other stakeholders of the meeting—conduct themselves in a professional manner that contributes to the advancement of science. Creating a constructive environment that enables respectful exchange is the responsibility of all participants, and requires the absence of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation.

All stakeholders of the meeting are expected to:

Respect and value differences.

Treat others with tact, courtesy, and respect.

Abstain from, and actively discourage, discrimination in all forms.

Avoid offending others by exercising restraint, and recognize that statements or actions not intended to be offensive may still be perceived as such.

Refrain from unpleasant or disparaging remarks or actions, in particular those based on sex, age, religion, beliefs, nationality, culture, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, status, disability, family situation, or any other characteristics protected by anti-discrimination laws.

Unprofessional conduct includes inappropriate behavior during conference sessions and outside the session rooms on the conference site. Sustained disruption of talks or other events; repeatedly insisting on negative comments; pressuring others to respond to a question or request when they do not wish to do so; intimidating behavior or language; unwelcome jokes or comments; unwanted touching or attention; offensive images; photography without permission; stalking; and any other behavior related to conference activities that disturbs participants, conveners, or organizers—before, during, or after the conference—may be considered harassing behavior.

Violations of this Code of Conduct should be reported immediately to the meeting organizers. Sanctions against participants engaged in harassing behavior may range from a verbal warning, to ejection from the meeting without refund, withdrawal of any financial support provided, and/or notification of appropriate authorities. Retaliation for complaints of inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated.

This Code of Conduct is adapted from the CERN and EMMI Codes of Conduct.
